Our Nature-Focused Mission

Updated: Dec 3

We all need to look after our own health and to protect our environment.

We all need community and a sense of belonging, doing and being part of a group.

Coming together collectively to share an activity and an experience in nature promotes positive mental health benefits.

Being active outside helps us to stay healthy physically and provides an outlet for creativity, an opportunity for relaxation and gives us perspective on our own lives through a connection to the world around us and our place in it.

These are universal needs that lead to a happier, more satisfied and healthier life, and cultivate a natural desire to protect the environment and our beautiful planet which benefits us all.

We want to start this nature revolution right here, in our own community, surrounded by the natural beauty and explorer’s paradise of our own back yard: the Brecon Beacons.

By creating services and an inclusive accessible space to meet our collective needs of holistic health and wellbeing, and through providing thoughtfully curated opportunities for relaxation, play and learning for all, we aim to nurture a natural curiosity in and with nature.

Our mission is to foster a healthier, happier, more active and caring community, through providing wellbeing sessions, events, collective spaces and opportunities for immersion, connection, physical activity and mindfulness in nature in our beautiful area of the Brecon Beacons.

Benefits of Nature Connection and Immersion

There are so many benefits to our mental and physical health by spending time outdoors - to name just a few:

  • a sense of connection with others, and with ourselves

  • an invitation to slow down

  • learning nature skills

  • building an awareness and connection with the seasons and the local area

  • mindfulness for relaxation and nurture

  • immersion and physical active in nature that promotes wellbeing.

Through engaging with and spending time in nature, participants in our sessions will become more aware of their surroundings and the impact we have on the environment, which in turn encourages all of us to be active carers of our environment and community.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple: To help create a healthier, happier, more active and caring community through a deeper connection, exploration and understanding of nature, the environment and our impact and place amongst it all.

Our mission is to inspire, relax and promote curiosity within our sessions, whilst creating community, connection and a safe, engaging space for creativity, self-expression, nurture in nature and play for both children and adults.

We want to bring the many physical and mental health benefits of forest school and nature activities to the local community in an accessible, inclusive and welcoming way, providing opportunities for further exploration and regular immersion to foster a greater sense of community and deeper connection to our beautiful natural environment.  Our nature based activities promote looking after our own health through physical, mindful and creative activity and the gentle power of slowing down, observing and being curious about the world around us fosters kindness, compassion and a greater sense of satisfaction and happiness.

Our beautiful natural surroundings are as much a part of our vision as we are, and we will share, celebrate and guide people through different locations, areas and spaces within the locale to inspire a greater respect, love of nature and desire to protect the natural world.

What We Offer

We create wellbeing, play and learning sessions in nature through a range of regular and pop-up sessions for families, children and adults, with the emphasis on being accessible, inclusive and community focused.

We also offer parties, holiday sessions and clubs, and will be adding wellbeing and nature retreats to our rosta soon, to bring us all Back to Nature.

We have a strong passion, drive and wealth of experience in providing inspiring, nurturing, creative and playful spaces in nature to promote learning, exploration, relaxation and mindfulness.  We ensure our activities and crafts are accessible and engaging, keep things fresh and evolving always and put our hearts and souls into every event and session we curate. We understand that each session is a special experience and an opportunity for relaxation, rest, learning and play for those who attend.

As hosts and guides, we pride ourselves on being welcoming, adaptable and intuitive to the needs of our groups and are committed to making everyone feel that they belong and are able to get involved, and that everyone is free to explore, create and play their way.

We provide guidance and ideas but deeply respect the power of exploration and nurturing natural curiosity in both children and adults. We know how to create a safe, inclusive and engaging environment for families, children and adults and understand the needs and differences of each of these groups through our combined experience.
